ANODIZING

If you machine aluminum or use aluminum in your assemblies, you should either Chem-film or Anodize these parts to prevent corrosion. Chem-film also known as Iridite, or Alodine applies a thin film of Chromium over the entire surface of the part. This is the recommended primer before painting or powder coating any Aluminum parts by government standard.

The best protection for aluminum is anodizing. This protection is created by forming a layer of Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3) over the surfaces of the part. The Al2O3 acts as a barrier to harsh environmental situations, that bare Aluminum would normally not withstand. RTM offers two types of anodizing, regular anodizing (Mil-A-8625 Type II, Class 1 or 2) or hard anodizing (Mil-A-8625 Type III Class 1 or 2) Note: Class 1 refers to clear anodize, and Class 2 designates color after anodize. RTM offers six major colors, Black, Blue, Red, Gold, Gun Metal Grey and Purple. Varying shades of these colors may be obtained with a color match sample being provided.

RTM is able to process your parts at competitive pricing, with quick turn-around times, and each part is inspected before leaving our facility to ensure the highest quality product for you.
